San Ignacio Resort Hotel in San Ignacio, Belize, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and in doing so, continues to usher in a new wave of Belizean luxury hospitality. To celebrate, the 26-room jungle hotel remodeled, adding two new suites with in-suite Jacuzzis, a new Mediterranean-style lobby with Baroque-themed Lobby Bar, and an extended outdoor seating area.
“San Ignacio Resort Hotel is honored to have spent four decades as the premier resort in San Ignacio and looks at each guest that enters our doors as extended family. We are extremely touched by the kind words and gestures that people in the San Ignacio Town community, as well as those visiting the property, have bestowed upon us as we celebrate this monumental year,” said Mariam Roberson, Managing Director of property.
The luxurious one and two bedroom suites provide guests with views of the rainforest and wildlife and are designed with local art and furnishings made from Belizean hardwood and sustainable mahogany.
Guests staying at one of the lavish suites also receive complimentary butler service, daily breakfast, a visit to the Green Iguana Conservation Project, as well as a guided trek along their Medicinal Trails to understand natural remedies that were used by the Mayan community. For the adventurous, off-property tours and activities include the Maya Ruins, such as Xunantunich, Tikal, and Caracol, as well as caving and tubing, zip lining and Macal River canoeing.
