Warm hospitality, service that was nothing short of impeccable, and unparalleled attention to detail–from the very first moment, this hotel radiated a level of sophistication and class that is nothing short of fabulous.
The Frontenac Club Inn is a historic boutique hotel in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The hotel occupies a stunning 19th-century limestone building, which was originally a bank and later served as a gentlemen’s club.
Today, the property has been transformed into an elegant inn with 14 beautifully appointed rooms, each with a unique theme blending modern amenities with vintage charm.
I stayed in the Backstage Suite, where I paid homage to one of Canada’s greatest musical legends and one of my all-time favourite bands, The Tragically Hip.
I admit to feeling like a bit of a rockstar lounging in my crisp robe with a glass of Chenin blanc, basking in the ambiance of this legendary band’s memorabilia!
The hotel’s fantastic location in the heart of downtown Kingston provides easy access to the city’s vibrant cultural scene, including museums, art galleries, theatres, and restaurants.
You can also explore Kingston’s historic waterfront, take a scenic cruise, or visit nearby attractions such as the 1000 Islands or Fort Henry.
I dined in my room for both dinner and breakfast (included, along with complimentary Wi-Fi and parking) from the on-site restaurant, The Bank Gastrobar, which offers a delicious menu of locally sourced ingredients and an extensive wine list.
“The Bank” is housed in the original bank vault of the historic limestone building that now serves as the Frontenac Club hotel. The interior of the restaurant features elegant and sophisticated decor that pays homage to the building’s heritage while also offering a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, the food was divine, and the service level was outstanding. Owner Sean even brought coffee to my door ahead of breakfast, which I appreciated immensely.
Whether visiting Kingston for business or pleasure, the Frontenac Club Inn offers a unique and memorable experience that combines old-world charm with modern comfort and convenience. Highly recommend.
